For some reason, both English proverbs have been dancing in my head the past few days. In some cases, one of the two proverbs applies to two people in a sticky situation. Imagine a rocky friendship: Person A is taken for granted by Person B and decides to stop being friends. Often times, “out of sight, out of mind” aids Person A in moving on to make better acquaintances and friendships while Person B ends up going through “Absence…that makes the heart fonder”.
Both proverbs ring true in a place of distance and space but context determines the winner. Do you agree?
