Yesterday’s devotional was around the bible verse of Galatians 6:7 which states “For whatever a man sows, that and that only shall he reap”.
September is a special month for me. It marks a very sudden and colourful change. From whining about the scorching heat, we are ushered into the beginning of cooler toward freezing days.
From watching the trees swaying in the hot winds with their bountiful greenery to gazing upon their soon-to-be bare structures surrounded by limp and damp brown leaves.
Like September, I am transitioning. Shedding the old and embracing all that’s to come regardless of how chilly it might get.
As we pray for a great September, a month good to us, favour-filled and laden with hope, I hope that we (talking to myself) continue the cumbersome but crucial work of pouring into ourselves. I hope we saturate ourselves with all the love and joy we so often expect from others and most importantly, sow healthy habits in our physical, mental and spiritual lives. I hope we sow love, kindness, forgiveness and meaning into ourselves and others so that when the harvest comes, we aren’t taken by ‘surprise’.
Oh dear, September. How I have longed for thee. Please be great to us.
